The Lake Erie Crushers, Equity Trust, and Ganley Automotive Crushed It at the Annual Pack the Park Pink Night to Benefit Komen Northeast Ohio!
|
The Lake Erie Crushers, Equity Trust, and Ganley Automotive joined
forces this season to help raise awareness and funds for Komen NEO! This year’s
Pack the Park Pink Night was Friday,
June 15, and was bigger and better than ever. All three sponsors from
this night went above and beyond anything we could have hoped for.
The Lake
Erie Crushers donated $1 from every ticket sold back to Komen, as well as
putting together a 50/50 raffle, jersey auction, survivor pre-game parade,
honorary first pitches, and decking the park out in pink!
|
Survivors were encouraged to wear pink, and Sprenger Stadium
really felt like it was a true Pink Out. Ganley generously donated one-of-a-kind
Pink jerseys that were auctioned off.
Equity Trust joined our Pack the Park Pink game for the first time
this year and blew us all away with their dedication and passion for the
cause. Their staff created an incredible raffle that raised $20,000. Equity
presented Komen NEO with a check the
night of the game!
The Pack the Park Pink Night keeps getting bigger and bigger, and
this year the total amount raised was above $23,000! It truly is inspiring that
these local companies, organizations, and fans come together to help the women
of Northeast Ohio. Komen thanks you all!

Does a Fast Breast MRI make sense
for me?
The “Fast Breast MRI” is a 10-minute,
self-pay examination that scientific studies have shown to be effective in
finding invasive breast cancers. It is ideal for women with dense breast tissue
who desire additional breast cancer screening but do not meet the criteria to
qualify for a conventional breast MRI study based on their lifetime risk for
breast cancer. The conventional breast MRI study (45 minutes) is intended for
women with a higher risk for developing breast cancer, such as BRCA1/2 genetic
mutations, etc. The Fast Breast MRI does not detect the spectrum of diseases
that can be detected by the conventional breast MRI exam. As with any screening
exam, additional non-cancerous lesions may also be detected that may require
biopsy or additional follow-up.
What to Expect
The Fast Breast MRI requires an injection
of contrast that is given through an IV. The study will be interpreted by a
specially trained breast radiologist and the results will be sent to your
doctor. You will need a doctor’s order for this exam. There is no radiation
associated with this study.
Who Should Get this Procedure?
The Fast Breast MRI is a low cost, self-pay
supplemental study for women with dense breast tissue who want a screening that
is more sensitive to breast cancer than mammography. The Fast Breast MRI may
detect cancers not visible on a mammogram but is not intended to replace
mammography. Routine screening mammograms are still recommended.
