The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Malls B&C in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. This past January marked my 17 year milestone as a Breast Cancer Survivor.
Having lost my mother to breast cancer in 1981 after an eleven year battle, and my own personal experience, makes this event very special to me and my strong commitment to fighting this disease. I participate in the race as a survivor, and to support the fighters and families of those who lost their battle.
Over the past four years, I have raised over $13,000 through your great support and generosity. Last year, I was the #1 individual Cleveland fundraiser having raised $4,031. Once again, I am asking for your help to achieve the ultimate goal of eradicating breast cancer in our lifetime so that future generations no longer have to worry about this disease. Seventy-Five percent of the money raised stays in the Northeast Ohio community to fund breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs. The remaining 25 percent supports groundbreaking breast cancer research.
